Library receives donation of a full workstation from Xtratight Entertainment

On Thursday Saturday June 6, Xtratight Entertainment donated a complete workstation to the Philipsburg Jubilee Library.
Xtratight, the producers of Carnival 2013’s premier event “Night of the Hit Makers” pledged to support an institution that was effecting positive change in St. Maarten.

Deputy Prime Minister Marlin to Launch Solar Energy Project at the Library

On Thursday March 14 at 2.00 pm, Deputy Prime Minister William Marlin will officially launch the solar energy project at the Philipsburg Jubilee Library. A few weeks ago 48 solar panels were installed on the roof of the library. The installation was done by Caribbean Energy Store NV and financed by the Ministry of Public Housing, Spacial Planning, Environment, and Infrastructure

Library hosts digital archives presentation featuring Profiles of the Windward Islands

As part of the Philipsburg Jubilee Library’s (PJL) Black History Month activities, Dwight Barran and Ans Koolen will be discussing the archives of Profiles of the Windward Islands on Wednesday, February 20 at 7:30pm.
Morenika Arrindell, Activity Manager of the Library, said that the archive is about 30 years old and contains rare footage of St. Maarten, St. Eustatius and Saba.

Story Time

Story Time

The Philipsburg Jubilee Library offers Story Time every last Saturday of the month, and specially for Babies and Toddlers Story Time every 2nd Thursday of the month. The program consists of storytelling, singing, related activities as crafting and games. Occasionally there are also puppet shows, performers and other special activities.
