The Board of the Philipsburg Jubilee Library has requested and received two separate reports from the Labour Inspectorate and the Fire Department about the state of the current library building.

(November 23rd, 2018) The Philipsburg Jubilee Library celebrating their 95 years of existent. On Saturday November 24th, there will be a Radiothon on the parking lot of the library. The Radiothon starts at 10 am and ends at 4 pm and will be hosted by Laser 101.

The Philipsburg Jubilee Library (PJL) was established in 1923, and is the only public library serving the Dutch side of Sint Maarten as the executive entity of the Philipsburg Jubilee Library Foundation. The Foundation is a private, fully government-subsidized organization, and currently at a crucial point in its existence.

Books, books and more books! That’s what libraries are made of. The Philipsburg Jubilee Library (PJL) housed over 60,000 volumes before Irma. Books in English, French, Spanish, Dutch, and Papiamento. Books for preschoolers to research fellows. The bookshelves are mostly empty now, with the vast majority of the publications sealed off in cartons where they obviously don’t belong,

Among the many catastrophes Hurricane Irma unleashed on us is the damage of the Philipsburg Jubilee Library.
