For the next Power of Knowledge lectures of this year, the library has invited Mr. Lenworth Wilson and Mr. Rolando Tobias. Mr. Wilson will speak on how to process the past, practice good habits and prepare and plan for the future, while Mr. Tobias will speak on financial planning and budgeting. These sessions will be broadcast on the library’s Facebook page and in the local media, starting August 11th , 2020.
Considering that we are in a time of great upheaval and looming economic troubles throughout theworld, the speakers will urge and provide all citizens with tips on how to plan and prepare for life goalsand how to effectively handle money. After all, it is not business as usual. This is where proper goalsetting, readiness for crisis and adversity, putting structure and systems in place for the next generationand planning your financial life becomes imperative.
Guest speaker Mr. Wilson is an educator and the co-owner and director of Wilson Total WellnessCompany and a known leader in youth and community development through his non-profitorganization, GIFTED Foundation since 2012. Mr. Wilson shared he hopes that through his promotion ofsocial responsibility, personal accountability and resilience his pursuit of purpose would guide others tofind theirs.
The other guest speaker is Mr. Tobias, Senior Sales Leader at the Windward Islands Bank. Mr. Tobiasstated that “Becoming financially free is all about budget allocation. How do you spend on needs andwants, versus investing and striking the right balance in your finances”? He further elaborated that –“Striking the right balance is what separates a millionaire from the average Joe”. Mr. Tobias will also begoing in-depth on learning how to tie your goals to your budget, how to make a budget and track yourexpenses. For anyone who is interested in learning how to transform their life in the financial arena orsimply is trying to get a grip on their finances, this lecture is the transformative and an essentialmotivational tool that they need.
